Dr. Oren received a BA from UCLA in 1972, a Masters Degree from Chapman University in 1976 and a Ph.D. from St. Andrews Theological College and Seminary in 1997. In addition to being a licensed marriage and family therapist, she is a certified Hypnotherapist. She is an international expert on using hypnosis to modify destructive habits such as nicotine addiction, alcoholism and drugs. Certified as an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) practitioner, she helps people with desensitization from stressful memories or events and reprocessing to newer ways of thinking and feeling. This may help with PTSD, traumatic experiences and anxiety.
Dr. Oren’s personal interests include hiking, opera, theater, movies and dance. In fact, many of her patient’s would be surprised to know that she is a very good Salsa and West Coast Swing dancer.
Dr. Oren’s favorite supplement is fish oil and her favorite wellness treatment is massage.
